NANCY WHITTINGTON, M.Ed.
Comprehensive Experience and Focused Expertise

Nancy Whittington is a knowledgeable and energetic former classroom teacher and educational diagnostician in private consultation practice for over 25 years working with parents, students and teachers by providing: psycho-educational evaluation, individualized and classroom instruction, collaborative consultation, and in-service training for professionals. Areas of expertise include study skills, test-taking skills, and test interpretation.

Nancy Whittington holds Bachelor and Master degrees from Texas Christian University in special education and psychometrics. Classroom teaching experiences range from first grade to high school math, both students with learning differences and those without. She has participated extensively in the development and standardization of a number of standardized tests including the Woodcock-Johnson Psycho-Educational Battery- Revised, The Woodcock-Johnson -IV, and the Stanford-Binet IV. She has presented workshops and training seminars for professional organizations, schools and parent groups nationwide on subjects including intelligence measurement and interpretation, classroom behavior management, identification of learning disabilities, SAT and ACT test Preparation, and using multiple intelligence theory for effective learning. In addition to her private practice, Nancy Whittington served for several years as counseling and evaluation associate at The Lamplighter School in Dallas, Texas. Nancy has has had tremendous success in preparing students to take the ISEE, PSAT, SAT and ACT over the years, 70+ students have been named National Merit Scholars, Semi-finalists or Commended Scholars. In 2011 - 12 students achieved such status and in 2012 - 15 students were top scorers! Nancy Whittington's test prep students benefit from her extensive knowledge of test construction and testing statistics, giving them unique insight for a more strategic approach.
